Poetry

The Deconstructing Postmodern Poet/Poem

by John Sokol

The beginning of his poem
   had become the middle,
yet from the beginning,
the middle had begun to begin
to become the end
   and not the middle.
So he skipped the middle
   and worked on the end.
Hence the end
   is now the beginning
   as well as the middle.
